Creative Arts Provide Our Economic Fuel

It's been pretty widely known that movie, television and video games are a large part of Southern California's life blood, but now the Los Angeles Economic Development Commission and Otis Arts Institute have cobbled stats together to show just how much visual arts contributes...

As you might have read, it's not small. According to the report, 120,000 people work directly in the entertainment industry, and another 300,000 jobs are created in support of the industry employment.

So the entertainment biz generates more economic activity than the imported goods steaming into L.A. ports, which is responsible for something around 400,000 jobs.

(Here's more and still more on the biz in which we work.)
